A special birthday card is being produced to in Lichfield to say thank you to the National Health Service.
As part of the 70th birthday celebrations for the NHS, members of the Lichfield Labour party are collecting signatures for the card, as well as personal stories of how people have been helped by the service over the years.
It will then be handed over at Samuel Johnson Community Hospital this week, together with a specially-baked cake.
Organiser Lindsey Baker said: “The NHS is Labour’s proudest achievement and we want to mark the 70th anniversary by paying our small tribute to the dedicated staff who do so much for local people, even in the toughest of times.
“We know the NHS resources are tighter than ever but we all owe such a debt of gratitude to the people who keep it going and this is our small way of saying thank you to each and every one of them.”
