Sophy Warrington created the Facebook petition in the wake of her brother Benjamin’s death when he was knocked off his moped on February 21.

The 24-year-old died when his bike collided with a lorry on the A38 near Streethay.

But Sophy believes the accident may have been avoided if better streetlighting was in place.

“If the junction was fully lit his chances would have been greatly increased,” she said.

“This is really important to me as it is a dangerous junction and a busy trade route which unfortunately has taken the life of my dear brother.”
