Lichfield’s popular Stroke comedy club has announced a special one-off show.
The club’s regular monthly shows are always a sell out so this show on Thursday (July 19) is a rare opportunity to enjoy the laughs at the George Hotel.
Headlining the night is Sol Bernstein, a legend on the circuit who has rubbed shoulders with the likes of Sinatra, the Rat Pack, Lenny Bruce and Doris Day.
A spokesperson said: “One part Alf Garnett, two parts Mel Brooks, and three parts like nothing you’ve ever heard. The oldest Jewish comic in the business is a laugh a minute, delivering his lines with acidic humour and chutzpah.”
Support comes from Dave Twentyman who will talk about subjects closer to home, such as family life and friends.
Also appearing will be the charismatic Andrea Hubert with her smart and unusually expressive observational comedy.
Compere for the night is chirpy Geordie Christian Steel.
Tickets are £12 in advance and doors open at 7.30pm for an 8.15pm start.
