THE sponsor of a new exhibition depicting images from World War Two says he is delighted to help bring a “moving retelling of history” to Lichfield Cathedral.
The Longest Yarn 2 runs until 31st May and features scenes covering the period from 1939 to VE Day in 1945, all knitted by more than 200 volunteers.
The exhibition also includes The Gang – eight life-size figures representing the services that helped Britain in its hour of need, from a Land Girl to a Spitfire pilot.
Lichfield soft furnishings business Interior Choice has agreed to sponsor the event. Managing director Garin Offer said:
“I’m delighted to sponsor the event. The volunteers’ craft and attention to detail is incredible.
“I’d encourage visitors of all ages to see this unique and moving retelling of history.
“It’s the first of two events we’ll sponsor this year as we are also supporting the Christmas Tree Festival later this year.”
