Streethay villagers plan fun day to mark visit of the Olympic Torch

Villagers in Lichfield are set to enjoy a fun day to celebrate the Olympic Torch’s visit.

Fradley and Streethay Parish Council has revealed more details about their plans to mark the flame’s arrival on June 30.

The Streethay play area will host stalls, a breakfast bar, face painting, tombola, bouncy castle and other events as part of the celebrations, which will raise money for local charities.

There will also be a balloon release competition to mark the occasion.

“The Parish Council has decided to hold a celebration community event a tthe time of the torch’s entry into Lichfield and its passage through Streethay to ensure we celebrate the occasion,” a spokesperson said.
