The Benyounes Quartet will perform at St Peter’s Church in Yoxall on May 20 at 7.30pm.

The concert follows the success of their previous performance in 2009.

The quartet have recently been awarded a Junior Fellowship at Trinity College of Music in London which they will take up in September 2011. They have been continuing to perform concerts throughout the UK and at some of the most prestigious festivals in Europe, including Verbier, Aix-en-Provence and Aldeburgh.

A spokesperson said:

“This time, as well as an evening concert, the Benyounes Quartet will be giving a workshop in St Peter’s School, Yoxall during which the pupils will be exploring a quartet by the colourful and impressionistic French composer, Ravel. The evening programme will include this Ravel quartet as well as an incredibly moving piece by the young Mendelssohn, written when he was only 18 years old.”

Tickets – priced £8 adults, under 16 free – are available on the door and free parking is available at St Peter’s School.
