FIRE crews have rescued a teenage girl after she got stuck in mud at Chasewater Country Park.
The incident happened at 4.15pm on Friday (21st August).
Firefighters found the girl stuck knee-deep in mud. Jordan Money, from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service, said:
"Entering open water can put you in significant danger and I'm urging people to take the necessary measures to stay safe in Staffordshire.
"Thankfully, the girl rescued in this incident was not injured, but the risk that this type of activity poses to people is still very high. "I would urge parents to speak to their children about the dangers of entering open water, as shocking national statistics show that approximately 400 people die due to accidental drowning every year."
