Theatre company brings Lichfield writer’s new show to the stage

Audiences are being warned to expect more laughs when a Lichfield writer’s latest show takes to the stage.

World of Pain is the follow-up to city writer Phil Preece’s House of Pain which received critical acclaim during its 2009 tour.

His work is being brought to life by Lichfield theatre company Nobody’s Perfect Productions and will appear at a number of venues across the region.

Director Paolo Allen said:

“World of Pain is even funnier and more hectic than its predecessor and I can’t wait to put what Phil Preece has written onto the stage!

“The comedy and characters are unlike anything I have ever had to create before and we have an amazing new cast to tackle the very individual roles.

“I’m sure that in these rather depressing financial times that we could all do with laughter and light relief, and World of Pain delivers it in bucket loads.”

The show, set in a small back-street hairdressers that doubles up as a piercing and tattoo parlour, sees an odd-ball cast of extreme characters passing through with unusual tales to tell.

House of Pain will be playing on:

  • May 20 – The Waterfront Barton Marina
  • May 26 – The Prince of Wales Centre, Cannock
  • May 27 – Theatre Severn, Shrewsbury
  • May 28 – Arena Theatre,Wolverhampton
  • June 9-11 – Garrick Theatre, Lichfield
  • June 17-18 – The Old Joint Stock Theatre, Birmingham
