Toby Barnes continued his dominant start to the Ridley Lazer West Midlands Cyclo-Cross League as he collected a third win from just four rounds.

The Lichfield CCC rider never looked like losing at the Heart of England Events Centre in Fillongley as he made light work of a gravel climb, sweeping corners and technical wooded area on the course.
With several of his junior rivals absent Barnes was left to battle with the senior competitors, but showed his attacking style from the outset, opening up a lead of 18 seconds after the first lap.
“It was a really good course as it had a bit of everything and I just went from the start,” he said.
“It’s two weeks until the opening National Series round in Derby but I haven’t raced many of the people I will be up against so hopefully I will have good form for there.”
There was more success for Lichfield CCC in the junior race as Daniel Barnes claimed his first win of the series, with team-mates Matthew Kingston and Emile Alexander joining him on the podium.
Elsewhere, Tia Carr took another victory for Lichfield in the girl’s category.
