Tributes paid to Burntwood speedway promoter

Tributes have been paid to a Burntwood man who has died from a suspected heart attack.

John Woolridge, who was the co-promoter of the Stoke Eazy Riders Potters speedway team, died at his home on Monday 27).

Co-promoter, Dave Tattum, told thisisstaffordshire:

“It is a huge loss to the sport, not only to our club, and I am sure all the Elite League teams will join in the tributes.

“I’m sure we’ll work with his family to organise some kind of annual John Woolridge memorial event.”

His funeral will take place at Streetly Crematorium on July 8 at 11.30am.
