UKIP’s message is reaching a wide audience across Lichfield and Burntwood, according to their parliamentary candidate John Rackham.
The 69-year-old, who owns the Kings Head Pub on Bird Street, has had a stall on Market Street in recent weeks – and will continue to do so from 10am to 2pm every Saturday before polling day.
The parliamentary candidate for Lichfield believes UKIP’s call for change are hitting home with members of the public.
He said: “The stall is fantastic. Seventy per cent of people came over and engaged with us positively by stopping to have a chat and by picking up our leaflets.
“Twenty per cent completely ignored us, which is fine, and the remaining 10 per cent said they completely disagreed with our policies, which again is fine.”
The candidates standing in the Lichfield constituency in May are:
