The Lichfield and Burntwood branch of UKIP say the local MP is “always welcome” to join them.
The group help their first post-election meeting at the Kings Head pub last week – and were surprised to see Tory MP enjoying a drink there on the same evening.

A spokesperson for UKIP said: “Michael Fabricant was at the Kings Head as well on the night of the meeting, but sadly only at the bar.
“He is always welcome at UKIP, especially if he grows fed up of Tory broken promises – like the rest of his constituents already are.”
But Mr Fabricant said he had no intention of jumping ship, joking that only free drinks might tempt him to.
“The King’s Head is one of my favourite pubs and its landlord being the UKIP candidate at the general election wasn’t going to deter my visiting,” he said.
“But I am loyal to the Conservatives and have absolutely no intention of joining UKIP – unless, of course, it entitles me to free drinks every time I visit!”
