PEOPLE are being urged to have their say on plans for new housing in Whittington as a consultation prepares to close.

The development of 59 homes is being proposed for land at Back Lane.

The scheme has been drawn up by Maplevale and Elford Homes, with a pre-planning application open until 11pm on 22nd September.

A spokesperson said:

"The proposal will deliver new market and affordable homes in a sustainable location, set within a residential area of the village and within walking distance of local services and facilities.

"This consultation provides an opportunity to provide feedback to the development team prior to a formal planning submission to Lichfield District Council."

The scheme would include 33 homes for open market sale and 26 to be classified as affordable.

Properties will range from one bedroom to four bedrooms.

There will also be the addition of open space and new tree planting, while a public right of way through the site will be retained.

More details on the scheme can be found online, where people can also find out how to give feedback on the proposals.
