LICHFIELD Leisure Centre’s official opening has been hit by the weather.
The facility at Stychbrook Park had been due to have the ribbon cut today (9th January).
But snowfall overnight has forced a number of planned activities to be dropped.
In a statement, centre bosses said:
“Due to the current snow and travel conditions, Lichfield Leisure Centre is currently closed to keep everyone safe.
“We’re just reviewing what activities can go ahead later today, but only if it is safe for residents to travel.
“If conditions improve, we hope to offer a small selection of swimming and aqua sessions, indoor cycling, yoga and Zumba, youth and walking football and dance activities for young people.
“Please do not travel unless it is safe to do so.”
