WHITTINGTON made a welcome return to winning ways with a five-wicket home victory over Brewood 2nds.
The villagers sent the visitors in to bat first and quickly got to work as they reduced them to 77-6.
A 39 from Callum Blazey and Matt Conroy’s 25 not out salvaged something from the innings for Brewood as they eventually reached 152 before being skittled out.
Openers Shazad Malik and Sameer Hussain set the foundation for the Whittington response with knocks of 39 and 21 respectively.
Phil Burton’s 21 and Andy Sharp’s 20 saw the home side over the line with five wickets in hand.
