WHITTINGTON suffered a five wicket defeat at Penkridge 2nds.
The visitors were sent in to bat first and lost an early wicket before seeing Shazad Malik hit 64 and Euan Hammond fire an unbeaten 104 as they eventually made 277-5.
The weather saw Penkridge set a revised target of 178 which they achieved despite the best efforts of Whittington bowler Martin Weston who finished with figures of 3-55.
