Chasetown FC have been dealt a blow by the news that Dean Perrow will face at least three months on the sidelines after suffering an injury in the first game of the season.

Tests have revealed that the striker ruptured his achilles in the 1-0 win against Lincoln United.

Scholars boss Charlie Blakemore told the club’s website:

“Dean has undergone surgery today on a ruptured Achilles and he will be missing for a minimum of three months depending on the severity of the rupture. It is a blow for Dean and the squad because his goal scoring record is outstanding. He has had little luck with injuries this past two years but I am confident he will still play a big part in our season.

“The priority for me is to make sure he is looked after and we get him right again as soon as possible. I will not rush him back though, his health and fitness come first. We have some excellent options up front with Danny Smith, Dave Egan, Craig Marshall, Gary Birch and Harry Harris all chomping at the bit to play and they are all good players who will grab goals at this level. This underlines the importance of having strength in depth.”
