"Bruford Low" at last year's Buskathon

Buskers are once again being given the chance to perform at a mammoth two day event in Lichfield.

Taking place at Speakers’ Corner on Dam Street, the Son of Buskathon will be raising funds for this year’s Lichfield Fuse Festival.

Last year the Buskathon raised £2,000 for the popular community arts festival and featured Lichfield’s MP Michael Fabricant singing his own version of Streets of London by Ralph McTell.

On May 14, buskers will be playing from 9am to 7pm with the following day featuring a 10-hour relay by Dave Simcox (aka Bruford Low) and Chris Newcombe (aka George from The Born Again Beatles).

Fuse Festival Director Tim Perks said,

After the success of Buskathon last year the organising team hope that Son of Buskathon can again give a significant and much needed boost to the Fuse funds this year. Please do join in or come along on the weekend to support us.

Anyone interested in playing should contact Chris Newcombe at cnewcombe@btinternet.com.
