AN actor is set to make his professional debut in a new show at the Lichfield Garrick.
Benjamin Cain will star as Tommo Peaceful in the production of Private Peaceful.
Adapted and directed by Simon Reade, the one-man show is based on Michael Morpurgo's story of a soldier on the eve of battle reflecting on his life and the horrors of war.
Benjamin has recently graduated from the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.
Director Simon said:
"Earlier this summer I saw a young actor in his graduating show at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School – Benjamin was witty, truthful, strong yet vulnerable.
"I knew at once here was our new Peaceful.
"Ben was raised in a Dorset village, so for him, this really is a story close to home.
"What an opportunity, for me as much as Ben, to revive Michael's contemporary classic of love and loss – this theatrical celebration of life."
Private Peaceful will be at the Lichfield Garrick from 11th to 13th September. For ticket details, call the box office on 01543 412121 or visit the theatre's website.
