The main stage acts for this year’s Fuse Festival in Lichfield have been confirmed.
A range of musical styles will be represented at the free community arts event in Beacon Park.
Main stage director Brian Pretty said:
“This will be a splendid way of spending a summer weekend with the finest programme of music ever heard in Lichfield – and it’s all free!”
The festival will open on July 8 with Influx and their alternative indie rock. Next on is the guitar driven rock of Maximum 90 before local covers group Threes Company Band finish off the evening with songs from the likes of the Rolling Stones, Thin Lizzy and current acts.
The following day begins at noon with the sounds of Café de Kashmir, before Catapult hit the stage with their original indie rock. Music quietens down a little when singer/songwriter Roz Bruce struts the stage. Next band on are Whimwise who combine orchestral, space rock, Celtic and electronics into their music.
Frentic fiddles, searing vocals and a hard driving rhythm section in the shape of the Roving Crows follows before local favourites of Madhalibut reform to play a special gig with their mixture of ska and reggae. Then the Monster Ceilidh Band present acoustic elegance with full blown electrofolk before the music switches to rock and roll classics before local favourites Johnny and the Speedos take centre stage.
Frankfurt-based Bourbon Street Stompers then bring the music of Louis Armstrong , Jelly Roll Morton and Duke Ellington to the main stage before the Big Sound of Cuba Tomezclao finish off the day.
Sunday, July 10, will be more relaxing with classical singer Michael Jones performing a selection of songs from the great American songbook to the current day.
The popular City of Lichfield Concert Band will then perform a programme taking in the fuse themes of Shake It-Swing It-Make It-Move It.
Local funky jazz outfit Chloe and the Tomcats follow before the nine piece Global Reggae Band mix their hybrid sound of roots, dance hall and R&B to finish off the festival with a flourish.
