An award-winning Lichfield restaurant has closed its doors.
The English House served its final meal on April 16 after informing customers via their Facebook page.
The Bird Street-based venue had proved popular with diners, but no reason has been given for the sudden closure.
A statement to customers said:
“It is with great sadness that we announce tonight (April 16) is our last night of service. On behalf of all of us, thank you for your support. To the team who helped us get to where we did, you have all done yourselves proud and we couldn’t have done any of it without you.”
The closure has come as a shock to customers, after the restaurant was named Lichfield’s favourite small business in February.
