The Staffordshire Hoard will be celebrated in cake form as part of a new competition.
It is being organised by the team researching and conserving the unique Anglo-Saxon discovery as part of the museum cake day initiative.
People are invited to send pictures of their Staffordshire Hoard-themed culinary creations until noon on June 18.
They will then be judged by conservators at Birmingham Museums with the winner earning themselves a Hoard goodie bag.
People can see the entries on Twitter by using the #MusCake hashtag.
Thousands of gold and silver Anglo-Saxon artefacts – valued at more than £3.2million – were discovered by a metal detector enthusiast in a Hammerwich field in 2009. Further items were uncovered last year after the same field was ploughed.
