Barton United slipped a place in the Midland Combination Division Two after going down 3-2 at home to Henley Forest.
Goals from Robert Burnside and Sean Wallis were not enough to secure what would have been an excellent point against the league leaders.
United will enjoy a respite from league action next time out as they take on St Francis in the Birmingham Vase on Saturday (October 20).
