Recently voted Best Big Band in the land for the twelfth year running, Chris Dean’s Syd Lawrence Orchestra are set to take to the stage in Lichfield.

Renowned for its blend of high octane big band swing and classic dance music, the orchestra will be playing music from the wartime chart topper Glenn Miller, the Count Basie Orchestra, Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald’s hit songs and more.

A spokesperson for the show added:

“The orchestra’s critically-acclaimed performances, under the direction of Chris Dean, feature classic arrangements of the swing era combined with the fire and drive of some of today’s finest young jazz musicians. Presented with a sizzling mixture of pizzazz, excitement and comedy, this makes for a truly great show.”

As well as the big band numbers, there are vocals from band leader Chris Dean and guest vocalists Eleanor Keenan and Angie Mills.

Chris Dean’s Syd Lawrence Orchestra is playing at the Lichfield Garrick on October 22 at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £19.50 and £17.50 and can be booked from www.lichfieldgarrick.com or by calling the box office on 01543 412121.
