The exhibition will take place in the walled garden at the Shugborough Hall estate on August 25 and 26.

Local actor and director Paolo Allen has had a ten year obsession with the miniature trees and has a collection of more than 30 – leading to the decision to organise the display.

“Bonsai have become something of an obsessive hobby,” Paolo explained. “I started with one or two small trees and then slowly added to my collection, buying and creating these beautiful living works of art over a period of many years.

“When it was suggested that I do a display in the location of the walled garden at Shugborough I was so excited as I love to share my passion for these amazingly stylish trees.

“The weekend will give me an opportunity to answer basic questions and to show the public how easily the look of bonsai can be achieved – I can’t wait!”

The display will run from 11am to 4pm on August 25 and 26 and is free to those visiting the estate.
