Burntwood racing driver James Tucker has confirmed he will take part in the Walter Hayes Trophy at Silverstone.
He will get behind the wheel of The National College for Motorsport’s 1992 Formula Ford for the event on November 6 and 7 after impressing during tests in their Formula BMW car.
Tucker will follow in the footsteps of American GP3 racer Joseph Newgarden who finished sixth in last year’s race.
He explained:
“I am really looking forward to the weekend. Although it is a Formula Ford, it is not to the same specifications as I have raced all year, it uses a different engine and tyres. So I have plenty to learn about the car in practice, as I have not yet driven the car.
“There are many big names racing from Formula 3 and beyond which is exciting for me as I get to test my skills against them.”
