A Burntwood racing driver is making the switch to stock cars.
James Tucker had been due to drive in Formula Renault but saw a Revolution Performance Motorsport (RPM) Scholarship fall through.
However, he has now struck a deal with sponsors Superseal and BgPrinters to race stock cars this season.
James, who will be running his own car #263 in the Rebels Racing Championship, said:
“I am really looking forward to racing and preparing my own car, something I haven’t done before, as well as being on the short ovals that I have always loved to spectate at due to the excitement of the reverse grids and contact.
“I am going to be racing number 263, which was my Grandfather’s number from when he raced National Hot Rods in the late 60s and early 70s, and I hope to emulate his success and hopefully exceed it.”
The Rebels Racing Championship sees all competitors run the same cars in all 26 race meetings at short circuit ovals, including Hendsford Hills Raceway and Birmingham Wheels Raceway.
