Work to restore the Lichfield & Hatherton Canal will be the subject of the next meeting by a local history group in the city.

Lichfield Discovered will heart from Bob Williams from the Lichfield & Hatherton Canals Restoration Trust at Lichfield Heritage Centre on January 13.

He will be sharing the remarkable story of the restoration plans, how the organisation came to be and where they are now.

The talk starts at 7pm and while there is no charge, there will be a voluntary collection with proceeds going to the Heritage Centre. Everyone is welcome to attend.

For further information on either of the above meetings, or to find out more about the group, visit http://lichfielddiscoverd.wordpress.com/ or follow the group on Twitter @lichdiscovered.
