LICHFIELD suffered another afternoon to forget as they lost by 117 runs at Pelsall.
The hosts opted to bat after winning the toss, but could only make 32 before losing their first wicket when George Turner caught opener Jake Lee off the bowling of Isaac Rowley.
Gurshan Singh was bowled by Zayn Hussain after a knock of 31 to leave Pelsall on 57-2.
But Todd Henderson’s 89 off 100 balls swung the tie in the home side’s favour before he was eventually bowled by Turner – one of four victims for the Lichfield man.
Pelsall’s innings ended on 242-9 to leave the city side facing a tough run chase.
Lichfield made a positive start as captain Adam Braddock made an impressive 55, but when his wicket eventually fell to leave the score at 96-5 the visitors had it all to do.
With only three other players making double figures during the innings – Will Davies with 14, Asif Rajah with 12 and Harry Dowen with 14 – any hopes of reaching the target were dashed with Lichfield eventually being bowled out for 125.
