Children are invited to find out about Lichfield’s gory past on a guided tour of the city.
From burnings at the stake and tales of ghost sightings, the hidden side of the city will be unveiled at the Blood Thirsty Lichfield walk on July 30 at 2pm.
The tour is based on Visit Lichfield’s popular ghost walks, but has been designed for children and will take in Market Square, the Guildhall Cells and Lichfield Cathedral.
Councillor Val Richards said: “Going on a Blood Thirsty Lichfield walking tour is a fantastic way for children to discover more about Lichfield’s past.
“It really makes history come alive, and I am sure it will make children look at Lichfield in a new light.”
The walk is recommended for children aged five and over and all youngsters must be accompanied by a paying adult. Tickets cost £1.65 each and need to be booked in advance from Lichfield’s Tourist Information Centre, based in St Mary’s on the Market Square, or by calling 01543 256611.
The tour will also take place on August 15 at 2pm.
