It’s not too late for people to book a collection of their real Christmas tree in the New Year in exchange for a donation to charity.

St Giles Hospice is once again operating its TreeCycle initiative.

The scheme sees residents book a collection in exchange for a suggested donation, with the trees then recycled at Greener Composting in Lichfield, where they are used for compost for agricultural purposes.

The money raised will go to support the work of the Whittington-based charity.

The suggested donation is £15 for a tree up to 8ft. Collections can be booked until midnight on 7th January.

For more details and to book, visit the TreeCycle website.
