A CHARITY is looking for volunteers to help an elderly Lichfield resident to walk their dog.

The Cinnamon Trust, which works to support older people and those in the latter stages of a terminal illness with pet care, is trying to put together a team of individuals to work on a rota for the local resident.

A spokesperson said:

“We need additional local volunteers to support an older resident in Lichfield and their delightful dog who would love some extra walking companions.

“You would become part of a small team of volunteers walking on a rota basis to suit your availability. The aim is that the dog gets a good walk several times a week.

“Many elderly or ill pet owners worry about their ability to provide proper care for their animals and start looking to rehome what may be their only companion.  This is where our national network of dedicated volunteers step in to offer support enabling them to stay together. “

Anyone interest in volunteering can contact www.cinnamon.org.uk, email appeals@cinnamon.org.uk or call 01736 758 701.
