CHASETOWN picked up all three points on the road as they delivered a knockout Boxing Day blow to Hanley Town.
The Scholars began brightly with Danny Glover causing home keeper Adam Whitehouse to react quickly to save.
Chasetown took the lead when Jordan Evans made a brilliant run down the flank to set up Glover who coolly slotted the ball home.
It was almost 2-0 when George Cater’s run allowed Glover to shoot from distance but his effort was narrowly wide.
The second Scholars goal came when a well-placed cross found Mitchell Clarke who slotted home.
The second half saw Whitehouse grateful when a Tom Thorley header landed safely in his hands.
Chasetown went close to a third when Jack Langston’s shot went over the bar.
