A children’s charity is appealing for volunteers to work at its new store in Lichfield.
The Barnardo’s charity shop, in the Three Spires Shopping Centre, was officially opened by the Mayor of Lichfield, Cllr Janice Greaves, on Saturday (April 28).
More than 550 people went through the doors on the first day of trading, with clothing, furniture and homeware among the items on offer.
Jason Worley, area business manager for Barnardo’s, said: “We are thrilled with the support we’ve received from local people in Lichfield on our opening weekend.
“The shop is in a great position at the Three Spires Shopping Centre for people to come in and have a browse.
“We are now recruiting for volunteers to help us run the store and anyone interested, even if you only have a couple of hours a week to spare, can come in to meet the team and pick up an application form.
“We are also asking for people in Lichfield to donate their pre-loved items to us, including any good quality clothing, accessories, furniture and homeware.
“We run a local furniture collection and delivery service to make life easier for our donors, so please get in touch to find out more.”
