COUNCIL chiefs have confirmed that the Lichfield Food and Drink Festival will take place over the August Bank Holiday weekend.
The future of the event had been in doubt after Lichfield District Council refused permission for the previous operator to stage it.
But the local authority says it will go ahead from 23rd to August and feature around 100 stalls.
The event will be staged in partnership with Lichfield City Council, Three Spires Shopping Centre, Lichfield Cathedral, The Hub at St Mary’s and Lichfield Chamber of Trade and Commerce.
Cllr Doug Pullen, leader of Lichfield District Council, said:
“We’re delighted to welcome visitors for this year’s Lichfield Food and Drink Festival.
“It’s fantastic to see the event going ahead thanks to strong local collaboration, even at short notice.
“While this summer’s festival will be slightly smaller than previous years, we’re confident it will still offer a safe, high-quality experience that showcases the best of our city.”
