ENFORCEMENT teams will be targeting problem parking outside schools in Burntwood, a councillor has said.

Cllr Steve Norman, Labour representative for Chase Terrace ward at Lichfield District Council, said residents had flagged safety issues at drop-off and pick-up times.

Following the Easter break, police and enforcement teams will be stepping up patrols in the town in a bid to crackdown on “inconsiderate and sometimes dangerous parking”.

Cllr Norman said:

“Of course, the police and parking enforcement teams will try to educate unthinking drivers, but they do issue penalty charge notices too.

“I understand the pressure of time on parents or grandparents tasked with the need to deliver or collect their children having done this myself, but the inconvenience to nearby residents and others can be serious.”
