A blitz on potholes is being planned across Lichfield and Burntwood during the Easter holidays.
Staffordshire County Council’s highways crews plan to use the holiday period to tackle a number of road problems caused by the recent weather.
Around 300 per week are being repaired across the county in a bid to clear a backlog.
Rugeley Road in Burntwood has already seen potholes filled in and other sites are in the pipeline.
Ian Turner, Staffordshire County Council’s Head of Highways Operations, said: “Flooding, snow and icy conditions have really taken their toll on the roads and that’s why we have stepped up our efforts.
“We have already repaired a thousand more than we did at the start of 2012 and our teams are tackling as many potholes as possible – but it is an on-going challenge.
“Hopefully the Easter school holidays should mean roads will be quieter for the next fortnight and will allow us to tackle even more with the minimum of disruption.”
Around 3,500 potholes have been repaired so far in 2013.
