Crash involving five cars closes the A38 at Fradley

Part of the A38 at Fradley was closed this morning after a five-car crash.

Police were called just after 7.15am this morning (April 27) after a black Vauxhall Corsa, white Audi, blue BMW, white Lexus and black Vauxhall Vivaro were involved in a crash.

A Staffordshire Police spokesperson said: “A woman was removed from a vehicle and taken to hospital with suspected neck and back injuries. A man was also taken to hospital complaining of back pain. At this stage none of the injuries are believed to be life threatening.

“A man from another vehicle received slight injuries but was not taken to hospital.”

The road re-opened at 9am with police directing traffic to ease congestion on the slip-road.

Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to contact Staffordshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 84 of 27 April.
