A FAMILY-OWNED cutlery business is celebrating after achieving certification for commitment to product quality and responsible manufacturing.

Arthur Price, which was founded 124 years ago and which operates a factory shop in Lichfield, has achieved both the ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 accolade.

The internationally recognised certifications confirm that the company operates to globally recognised standards for quality management and environmental management, following an extensive independent audit of its systems, processes and manufacturing operations.

James Price, the company's CEO, said:

"Achieving both ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification is a major step for our business and reflects the hard work our team has put into strengthening our systems across the company.

"For our customers, retailers and hospitality partners, it provides independent assurance that our products are manufactured to consistently high standards while being produced with environmental responsibility in mind.

"Quality and sustainability expectations are quite rightly rising. Achieving ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 ensures our processes meet internationally recognised standards and gives our customers confidence in the consistency and accountability behind our manufacturing."

ISO 9001 certification recognises organisations with effective quality management systems that ensure consistency, traceability and continuous improvement across operations, while ISO 14001 focuses on environmental management, covering areas such as waste reduction, resource efficiency and environmental impact monitoring.

Arthur Price chairman Simon Price said:

"These certifications validate the processes and culture we have built for decades. As a manufacturer it is essential that we demonstrate the highest standards of quality, accountability and environmental management.

"They strengthen our position in the market and support our long-term strategy of responsible, sustainable manufacturing.

"None of this would have been possible without our amazing team and I’d like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of them, not just for their hard work in helping us achieve this recognition, but for their continued contribution to upholding our very precious Arthur Price values."
