LICHFIELD slumped to the bottom of the table as they fell to a three-wicket home defeat against Tamworth.

Adam Braddock’s side had reached 49-2 before their batting woes saw them slip to 62-5.

They rallied before more frailties were exposed when they moved from 82-6 to 85-9 in the space of three overs.

Isaac Rowley and Edward Turner eventually saw out the 21 overs to end the Lichfield innings on 101-9.

Tamworth have not been without their own woes this season though, but they had looked to be cruising to victory when they reached 83-4.

However, their batting also took a turn for the worse as Lichfield found wickets to make it 87-7.

There was to be no joy for the hosts though as Tamworth passed the target with three wickets to spare.
