Passengers travelling between Lichfield and Birmingham have been facing delays after problems on the Cross City Line.

Overhead cable issues at Aston forced all London Midland services on the route to be suspended at around midday.

Although engineers have fixed the problems, knock-on delays have seen some trains to and from Lichfield City and Lichfield Trent Valley delayed by up to 45 minutes, with National Rail Enquiries suggesting services may not return to normal until around 3.30pm.

#Aston – journeys are still being delayed. Disruption between Birmingham New Street and Lichfield / Rugeley is expected until 15:30
