ALREWAS fell to a second successive defeat as they lost by six wickets at home to Cutthorpe.

After being sent in to bat first, the Herons looked to be moving along well as they reached 81-2.

But they lost a further two wickets without troubling the scoreboard further to leave the innings hanging in the balance.

A 55 from Stephen Cole helped steady the ship as Alrewas reached 183-7 before he was caught and bowled by Primosh Perera.

Sam van Daesdonk also hit a useful 34 from 39 balls to help the Herons eventually reach 225-9 in their 50 overs.

The game looked to be finely balanced as Cutthorpe’s response saw them fall to 61-3.

Skipper Edward Barlow’s 30 had helped to move the score on to 111-4, but it was to be the last wicket claimed by Alrewas as Perra’s unbeaten 63 and 61 not out for Ali Jahangir saw the visitors past the total.
