HAMMERWICH played out a draw in their trip to Penkridge.
The visitors chose to bat first after winning the toss, but lost Ben Novis in the first over when he was trapped for a duck by Dean Lones.
Imran Qadir and Tom Wright settled things down before the former was caught off the bowling of Myles Davis to leave the score on 42-2.
Wright followed not long after to leave the Hammers on 54-3.
But centuries from Scott Elstone and Luke Ponder put the innings firmly back on track before Elstone was finally caught after 109 from 88 balls.
With the score on 245-4, Hammerwich looked to make a last dash for runs, but ultimately had to settle for a final score of 298-6 from their 50 overs.
Penkridge lost an early wicket in reply when Lones was caught by Matthew Pumphrey off the bowling of Haider Pervaiz after scoring ten.
Number three batsman Will James made a fine 111 to give his side hope of taking something from the game – and by the time he was trapped lbw by Elstone, the hosts had reached 347-7 with six overs to play.
But only one more wicket was to fall as Penkridge completed their 50 overs with a score of 282-8.
Callum Brodrick was the pick of the Hammerwich attack with figures of 3-68, while Pervaiz and Elstone picked up two wickets apiece too.
