A man has died after a crash near Lichfield.

Police say Matthew Dittmer, 29 and from Burton, was driving on the northbound carriageway of the A38 near Fradley Park on March 17 when his car was involved in “a collision”.

He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham after the crash but died of his injuries on Wednesday.

A Staffordshire Police spokesperson said: “His family are being supported by specially trained officers.”

Anyone who witnessed the crash and is yet to come forward is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident number 876 of 17 March
