A Burntwood performing arts school is celebrating the success of a number of students.
The Momo Academy of Drama saw 13 students take LAMDA acting exams.
The results saw six distinctions, six merits and one pass.
Among the top performers were Sophie Lowe, who passed her grade 8 gold medal with distinction, and Ellie Browne, who passed her grade 6 bronze medal with distinction.
Teacher Nicola Morris said: “For the last six years I have run the performing arts school in Burntwood, alongside working full time as a teacher, but I have now given up my job as head of a pre-prep school to teach drama to pupils.
“The arts are being squeezed more and more out of the primary curriculum, which is why I started this academy. Maths and English seem to be the only thing that matters.
“Our students also raise money each year with a charity concert, choosing their own charity so it means something to them. They have raised money for Stephen’s Sutton Teenage Cancer Trust, Newlife and Women’s Aid.
“Their exam results are fantastic – they are great children so it’s pleasing to to see their hard work recognised.”
