A FILM starring Steve Coogan will be on the bill at the next Burntwood Afternoon Cinema screening.

It will be shown at Burntwood Memorial Hall at 2pm on 15th July.

Set in 1970s Argentina, the tale follows a world-weary English schoolmaster who finds himself caring for an emperor penguin – and highlights that sometimes the most unlikely companions can teach us the most important lessons about courage and compassion.

A spokesperson for Burntwood Afternoon Cinema said:

“Based on Tom Michell’s beloved memoir and directed by Peter Cattaneo, this feel-good film combines gentle humour with touching moments that will warm your heart.

“Coogan delivers a wonderfully nuanced performance alongside a stellar supporting cast including Jonathan Pryce, proving that great stories about friendship and personal growth never go out of style.”

Tickets are £5 and can be booked by visiting the Lichfield Garrick website or calling the box office on 01543 412121.
