A karting event near Lichfield has helped raise £700 for the Midlands Air Ambulance.

Garry Mitchell from Midland Karting at Fradley handed over the cheque to the charity’s fundraising manager Jo Bailey.

The handover was also the chance for Garry’s son Callum, two, to get a closer look at the life-saving helicopters.

Garry added: “It was a great day and we are so pleased to be able to hand the cheque over.

“I’d also like to thank Jo, the pilots and paramedics we met on the day for making us feel so welcome. This really is a special charity filled with dedicated people who save lives every day.”
