A scheme is being rolled out by Staffordshire County Council to help people struggling financially by giving them access to pads and tampons.

It comes after a successful pilot on addressing period poverty.

Cllr Hayley Coles, Staffordshire County Council’s cabinet member for communities and culture, said:

“Access to sanitary products is a basic necessity, not a luxury.

“This initiative is about protecting people’s dignity and wellbeing. We’ve seen the difference it’s made already, and we’re proud to extend that support even further.

“It’s also heartening to see how many residents are donating to help others. It’s a real show of community spirit.”
