Lichfield Superbikes star Gary Mason was forced to endure a frustrating weekend thanks to technical problems at Oulton Park.
The two race event started well enough for the MSS Colchester Kawasaki rider as he took seventh spot after passing stand-in team-mate Chris Walker.
But a delayed second race was virtually over before it had even began after problems on the warm-up lap saw Mason start from the final grid position.
Despite fighting his way through the field, persistent problems forced him to end pull into the pit lane while investigations took place
The Lichfield rider said:
“Everything that could’ve gone wrong in that second race did go wrong. I was frustrated to start at the back of the grid but at the end of the day we’d still have had to pull in I think.
“If we’re looking for positives, Race One lap times pushed us up the grid and I know that if I could just get away better I could run further up the front.”
