A TEAM from the Stephen Sutton Ride Out are revving up their fundraising efforts ahead of this year’s event.
They will be at Morrisons Burntwood on 25th and 26th April selling merchandise and yellow bows.
They will also be taking donations as they continue the work of fundraiser Stephen Sutton in preparation for this year’s event on 10th May.
His mother, Jane, said:
“We’re really grateful to Tracie Paul for allowing us to hold our annual bucket collection and sell SSRO merchandise to kick-start our fundraising for 2026.
“We’ve been blown away by the generosity of visitors to Morrisons in recent years and we have two, new limited-edition t-shirt designs for this year which I’m sure will again prove popular.
“The team will be outside the store’s main entrance so do come down and say hello.”
They will also be joined by Lichfield’s Tuneless Choir on the 25th April.
The ride itself will see a cavalcade of motorbikes start from Lichfield Rugby Club at 11am before following the traditional 27-mile route through Hopwas, Alrewas and Kings Bromley to the outskirts of Lichfield, around Bowling Green pub, before finishing around midday at Burntwood Rugby Club.
The event, now in its 14th year, has so far generated over £103,000 for Teenage Cancer Trust, the charity which supported Stephen on his four-year cancer journey before he died at the age of 19 on 14th May 2014.
Jane, who will ride pillion on the lead motorbike said:
“The bikers and public have always come out and supported this annual event, helping to raise an astonishing sum of money for Stephens Story supporting Teenage Cancer Trust.”
